MISSION
The Child Abuse Prevention Council is a community council with the primary purpose of coordinating Santa Barbara County’s efforts to prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect.

VISION

Our vision is that all children will grow up in safe, healthy and nurturing homes and communities.

VALUES
We believe:

In working in partnership with families;
In making decisions based on a thorough understanding of local opportunities and needs and corresponding “evidence-based” practices;
In promoting and supporting family-centered, strength-based services open to all families;
That community engagement is necessary to fulfill our mission;
That there is value in educating the public about child abuse and neglect prevention;
That effective prevention means addressing both risk factors and promoting protective factors; and
That all of us are responsible to ensure that our community’s children are safe, healthy and thriving.
